From Mass Turnpike going east, take exit 14. Follow signs to Route 128N (I-95) and take exit 24. Follow signs to Route 30. Go 3 miles east to Newton City Hall.

Off I-95, take exit 24 (from either direction). Turn right onto Route 30 (Commonwealth Avenue).
Go 3 miles east to Newton City Hall.

Course Route and Features
Begin at Commonwealth Avenue at Newton City Hall. Go east up Heartbreak Hill to Cedar Street. Make U-Turn onto Carriage Road until Commonwealth Park E. Return to Commonwealth Avenue and Newton City Hall.
Features: Finish line digital display clock timing, Professional Staff, Water Stations, Medical Professionals.

Newton Food Pantry

The cupboards are bare at the Newton Food Pantry! When you come to Newton City Hall to pick up your Race Number, bring a brown paper bag filled with non-perishable food, meals in a can, hygiene products, diapers, and cleaning products. Items may also be dropped off at any of the Village Banks, co-sponsor of this project.
A Message From Mayor Cohen and the Newton Pride Committee
The Newton Pride Committee has sponsored the Heartbreak Hill International Youth Race since its inception 16 years ago. The City of Newton is committed to continuing an event that promotes a healthy lifestyle in a community atmosphere that brings everyone together to run, cheer and just have a good time. It is apropos that this race be dedicated to Johnny Kelley who was the ultimate runner.

Mayor 		This year's 16th Newton Heartbreak Hill International Youth Race is dedicated to Johnny Kelley. Known as Mr. Marathon, he was present at the unveiling of the now famous Johnny Kelley "Young at Heart" statue which is located at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and Walnut Street. He also hosted our first race and stated that as the song says, "Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you, if you're young at heart." He is an inspiration to all of us and we take great pleasure in honoring him in this way.
